“Korea-Australia extension of army military exchange”

On March 12, the Army Chief of Staff Kwon Oh-seong received a state visit from Lieutenant General David Morrison, the Australian Army Chief of Staff, and discussed cooperative exchange between the two armies.

His visit was made with an official invitation from our army according to Army Chief Morrison’s intention to visit Korea from the Asia-Pacific PACC (Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference) in New Zealand last year.

During the conversation with Chief Morrison after the honoring ceremony, Chief Kwon thanked him for joining the 6·25 Korean War and expressed his respect to Chief Morrison’s father, the former army lieutenant who served in the Korean War but has since passed away.

With this visit of the Australian army chief to Korea, the two army chiefs agreed to reinforce their cooperative army military exchange as diplomatic, security and economic cooperation partners. According to this, they are to make joint efforts to expand military exchange such as bilateral talks and mutual commissioned education during PACC, which recently has been carried forward between the two.
