The 3rd Artillery Brigade had a shell-firing training with 18 K9 self-propelled howitzers on September 5 with 300 soldiers in attendance.

This training focused on reaction capability with gunpower to strike the enemy rapidly and accurately with powerful artillery firepower.

It started with attacks received from the enemy's artillery corps.

K9 howitzers gave off sparks to the enemy within two minutes after they received the order of firing back against the enemy artillery through counterbattery radar and unmanned aerial vehicle.

A K9 self-propelled gun equipped with a fire automated system detected the enemy’s location and struck there within the shortest time based on intelligence received from the tactical command information system at the fire direction center.

“Military tension is increasing with North Korean intentional provocations such as current consecutive missile firings. We all are well aware that the enemy will definitely provoke us soon and are keeping a full readiness posture by having a ‘Ready to die in war’ spirit,” said Lieutenant Colonel Park Seok-young who participated in the training.
