-The two countries discuss strengthening mutual cooperation at the 6th Defense Strategy Dialogue
-Agreement to cooperate through humanitarian aid and disaster relief as well as national defense technical support

On August 2, Kim Man-ki, head of the Defense Policy Office of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and Deputy Minister of Defense for Singapore Teo Eng Dih held the 6th Korea-Singapore Defense Strategy Dialogue at the Ministry of National Defense in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to discuss ways the two nations can strengthen their exchanges and cooperation. They evaluated the outcomes and achievements of their current defense exchange activities, such as exchanges between high-level personnel, maritime security, and military education exchanges, and agreed to cooperate in the future in fields such as defense technology, humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and cyber security. In particular, they have decided to expand their cooperation in the area of defense technology based on the MOUs on CBRN Intelligence and Information signed at the 2019 ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit.

In addition, they agreed that cooperation at the national level is critical to addressing the increasing number of disasters related to climate change, and to strengthening combined efforts in the areas of humanitarian aid and disaster relief. Furthermore, they agreed to build a close relationship by sharing the experiences and know-how they have accumulated over time in response to transnational cyber security threats. Deputy Secretary Teo visited Vice Defense Minister Park Jae-min before the dialogue, which was an opportunity for strategic dialogue and an exchange of opinions on COVID-19 and the regional security situation.
