54th Security Consultative Meeting to be held in the US

Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup and his American counterpart Lloyd Austin will hold the 54th Republic of Korea (ROK)-United States (US) Security Consultative Meeting at the US Department of Defense on November 3, 2022.      

Top officials from both countries in the areas of national defense and foreign affairs will also participate in the meeting.

At this SCM, the countries will discuss the full range of key alliance issues, including ▴assessing the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and mutual assistance in policy, ▴enhancing the capabilities to carry out extended deterrence, ▴strengthening the combined defense posture, and ▴global security cooperation.
