ADMM-Plus triggers ROK-Vietnam Defense Ministers meeting

—To commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, national defense and defense industrial cooperation will be increased—

Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup met with Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Văn Giang on November 22 to discuss regional security issues, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and measures to expand national defense exchange and cooperation between the two nations. The bilateral talks were held on the sidelines of the 9th ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus in Cambodia.

Minister Lee stated that Vietnam is a vital partner in ROK's Indo-Pacific policy, which President Yoon Suk Yeol addressed during the ASEAN-ROK Summit on November 11th. The Minister aims to strengthen high-level exchanges, joint training, and defense industrial cooperation between the two nations.
