The First ROK-US Counter Missile Working Group

The inaugural Counter Missile Working Group (CMWG) meeting was held at the South Korean Defense Ministry on November 18th, 2022.

The CMWG is a new consultative body under the US-South Korea Deterrence Strategy Committee (DSC) to set the groundwork for more comprehensive policy cooperation in the missile sector.

In the future, South Korea and the US will strengthen the cooperation system between the defense ministries through the consultative body in preparation for advanced missile threats from North Korea. They will promote more rapid policy cooperation to strengthen the alliance's preparedness to respond to missiles.
