Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup attends the 9th ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus

From November 22 to November 24, Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup attended the 9th ADMM-Plus (ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus) in Cambodia.

The meeting resumed in a face-to-face format three years after the COVID-19 pandemic under the theme "solidarity for a harmonized security.” It drew international attention due to its proximity to the recent multilateral summits, including the G20 and the East Asia summit, both of which were held in the ASEAN region.

During the meeting, Minister Lee Jong-sup explained the current status of the ROK's Action Plan for ASEAN-Korea Defense Cooperation, which includes various defense cooperation measures with ASEAN, and sought ways to cooperate with countries in the region to create a free, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, as announced by President Yoon Suk Yeol at the ASEAN-ROK Summit on November 11.
