Briefing by top Pentagon officials on strategic documents

Richard Johnson, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Policy (N-CWMD), visited the Ministry of National Defense in Seoul on November 17th (Thu) and to give a briefing on the 2022 Nuclear Posture Review (NPR*) and Missile Defense Review (MDR**), which were recently announced by the U.S. (Oct. 28).

Both sides further discussed various extended deterrence measures against North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats following the U.S. delegation's briefing on strategic documents.

They also discussed ways to strengthen the extended deterrence of the U.S. and continue to prepare effective measures against nuclear and missile threats from North Korea.
