On April 8, Minister of National Defense Suh Wook held phone talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov. These talks were held at the request of Ukraine.

“Minister Reznikov explained the current critical situation in Ukraine. Regarding this, Minister Suh sent our government’s message that the ROK government expresses its grave concern about the civilian massacre situation following the Ukrainian government’s announcement, and condemns Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement. The ministry also added that Reznikov had hoped for “ROK’s continued support by keeping tabs on the situation in Ukraine,” expressing his gratitude for the ‘humanitarian support’ from our military authorities.

Last month, the ROK government provided Ukraine with twenty articles, including bulletproof helmets and medical supplies, amounting to a total value of one billion won.
