The Iron fist battalion, Leopard regiment, 5th division conducted an intensive firing training from July 10-16 to have perfect and practical combat firing ability.

All the available firepower of the battalion, from individual guns to crew-served weapons such as portable antitank rocket (PZF-III), 81mm mortar, 90mm recoilless rifle and K-4, were taken to the training.

Squad combat firing practice, which fires at random targets according to voice combat order, and platoon combat firing, which improves a sense of actual warfare by wearing multiple integrated laser engagement simulation (MILES), in particular, were reminiscent of an actual battlefield.

For the crew-served weapons, not only firing but the level of training was also improved through tactical firing management such as maneuvers, as well as assuming actual warfare situation. In addition, the unit created an environment for soldiers to participate in the educational training more spontaneously and actively by providing various motivation such as “the best shooter” contest and squad/platoon “TOP TEAM” contest.

“All the members of the battalion having a dead shot ability, so we gained confidence that we can defeat any enemy that provokes us at any time,” said Lieutenant Colonel Kim Tae-sun, commander of Iron Fist battalion.
