Show the entire world the traditional style and the resplendent culture of Korea

The Marine band participated in “Kuala Lumpur International Tattoo 2014” and introduced Korea’s traditional style and resplendent culture to the world.

The band brought down the house, showing a variety of performances at the festival held in Kuala Lumpur on October 10-12.

The event was prepared by the Malaysia’s Ministry of Defense and attended by 11 military bands from the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, Turkey and so on.

The band had performed one “marching” a day until the festival closed. Sixty bandsmen made their entrance with the music “Song of Sword”, which is a soundtrack for the drama “Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-shin”, then performed “Arirang”, Korea’s representative national folk song that is also listed as an intangible world heritage by UNESCO, Korean dancing, samulnori(traditional percussion quartet) and fusion Korean traditional music performance, etc. They made their exit singing a Marine song.

They also gave a concert of encouragement, on October 13, to comfort overseas Koreans.

The Navy concluded that through this event we could carry out cultural exchange with many countries and promote cooperation of military friendship.
