Taegeukgi as a work of art

The 1st ROK Field Army has been holding an armed service creation exhibition since November 12.

At this ongoing exhibition until November 29, and 15 works of art utilizing Taegeukgi as a motif are on display, including “Taegeuk flower bursting at military” made by Corporal Han Sang-Yun, who was a famous pop artist before his service.

“I am very proud of myself showing my talent to all my fellow soldiers. I hope they grow more patriotic by appreciating these pieces,” said Corporal Han.

The exhibition is scheduled to be opened during the moral education period for the military profession units and year-end military music concert for Wonju citizens.

In addition, the unit carried out a national flag raising in June, August and October collaborating with Wonju-si. And a wide range of activities have been developed to establish and spread the “Taegeukgi Love movement” such as a composition contest and awards related to Taegeukgi for soldiers of the subordinate force.
