Traditional musical band of the MND receives an official invitation for UAE IDEX and disseminates the excellence of Korean culture

The traditional musical band of the MND was invited to “2015 UAE IDEX”, a defense industry exhibition held in the United Arab Emirates, and made a contribution to military diplomacy as well as introduced the excellence of Korean culture.

The exhibition is the top-class one in the defense industry in the Mideast, and it was participated in by around 1,200 companies in the defense industry from 55 countries with 80,000 attendees. The official guests were our musical band of the MND and the Belarusian honor guard only for the opening ceremony.

The band showed Korean traditional beauty through the Daechwita march, which tells of a royal progression, samulnori, Saja Noreum, Beona spinning, etc. They also visited the Arc unit, the dispatch unit to the UAE, to put on an encouraging performance for them.

One MND traditional band official said, “Our performance for the opening ceremony received rave reviews from honored guests and audience members from all over the world as well as royalty of the UAE. It was a chance for the Army to boost national prestige through our traditional culture.”

Meanwhile, 22 domestic defense companies including LIG Nex1 participated in the UAE IDEX and showed their defense products and technologies.
