Korea and the U.S. took part in a joint recovery operation for fallen soldiers from the 6·25 Korean War.
Officials of the MND Agency for KIA Recovery & Identification and American experts from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency(DPAA) are looking at a body excavated near a hill in Imgok-ri, Jinjeon-myeon, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do on May 7. The area was once where the U.S. Kean Task Force and North Korean forces had a fierce battle during the Battle of Nakdonggang River, and the excavated remains will be moved to a central identification laboratory for a detailed identification.
