[27th Army Division] An ace marksman event on a pitch-dark night

27th Army Division announced they had a night firing training using day-night sights (PVS-11K) and starlight scope (PVS-04K) at shooting range near a post. The training was arranged to improve the firing ability of soldiers at nighttime when a clear view is not properly secured and to seek for optimized tactical application plans of night vision devices.

Those who participated in the training fired crew-served weapon, such as 90-mm recoilless rifles, K4 rapid-fire grenade launchers, etc., followed by individual weapons firing. Moving to Chaseongdokwan, a facility for training, they discussed further firing training methods and effective operational plans of night vision devices in tactical situations, such as evaluation instruction, attack and defense operations, etc.

Captain Sung Oui-chol of Chasungdo Battalion who participated in the training said, "We have to train ourselves constantly and control the battlefield in order to defeat the night and bad weather conditions." A division official said, "We will evaluate night firing of whole organic equipment until the end of the year to cultivate the best night combat firing ability."
