[Air Combat Command (ACC)] “Promptly strike the origin of the enemy’s provocations”   
 
Air Combat Command (ROKAF Air Combat Command, ACC) had a local provocation  field training exercise around the northwest islands on February 17 for the first quarter of 2017, preparing for provocations against Korea's northwestern islands.

The training  was conducted in various situations, such as indication of unusual movements of enemy’s coastbattery at the western NLL (Northern Limit Line) near the Yeonpyeong island, damage of our forces by enemy shelling, aerial provocations by the enemy, etc..

Major fighting powers like F-15K, KF-16, F-5 and F-4 fighters participated in the training to strengthen the military's ability to strike penetrating enemy forces rapidly and accurately at the origin of the enemy’s provocations.

All the fighting powers that joined the training immediately completed their mobilization readiness posture as soon as opening the enemy’s coastbattery and unusual movement to attempt aerial provocations were detected, and rapidly sallied, undertaking attack and air defense missions. Following the assumption of enemy’s artillery shelling provocations, attacking power such as F-15K struck the origin of the enemy’s provocations as well as supporting forces, blocking any possibility of additional provocations.

ROKAF Air Combat Command (ACC) has carried out local provocation field training exercises quarterly in order to establish a rapid readiness posture for the northwestern islands area which is our strategic location, so that they can verify and enhance their operational ability in a sustained manner.
