On October 28th, The Marine Corps Headquarters held a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of the battle of Jangdan and Sacheon rivers in Imjingak, City of Paju, Gyeonggi Province and Dorasan Peace Park.

The battle of the Jangdan Sacheon River district repulsed 4 rounds of attacks from 42,000 Chinese soldiers of 4 divisions with 5,000 troops for 495 days from March 17, 1952 to the conclusion of the armistice agreement on July 27 of the following year. This was a major battle for the Marines that guarded the Paju and Munsan areas for 495 days. The battle was fierce, with 776 killed and 3214 wounded. 

More than 500 people, including veterans and citizens of Paju, attended the ceremony.

An official of the Marine Corps said, "I want to carry forward the strong fighting power these soldiers showed, respond to the enemy's provocation without any hesitation and be victorious."
