Vice Minister of National Defense Shin Beom-cheol meets with Minister of Defense of the Republic of Fiji

Discussion on ROK-Fiji defense exchanges and cooperation and promotion of the Busan World Expo 2030

On the afternoon of October 13 (Thursday), Vice Minister of Defense Shin Beom-cheol met with Inia Btikoto Seruiratu, Minister of Defense* of the Republic of Fiji, who was visiting South Korea, at the Ministry of National Defense, and the two exchanged views on bilateral defense exchanges and cooperation.

 
Vice Minister Shin mentioned that South Korea is strengthening cooperation with Pacific island countries based on the ‘ROK-Pacific Islands Foreign Ministers Meeting,’ and expressed his hope to expand cooperation with Fiji, which chaired the ‘Pacific Islands Forum (PIF)’* this year, as a central country in the South Pacific region.
