Defense ministry to celebrate 74th anniversary of Armed Forces Day

Event to be held at the main military training ground of Gyeryongdae on morning of Saturday, October 1

To mark the 74th anniversary of Armed Forces Day, an event will be held on Saturday morning, October 1, at the main training ground of Gyeryongdae.

Attended by the color guard from each armed service, military cadets, combined future echelon, and combined special forces, the event will be held under the theme of ‘strong national defense, strong forces backed by science and technology.’ The event will begin with a Pledge of Allegiance, followed by awarding medals and citations, a celebratory address, joint/combined high-altitude drop, aerial force review, Black Eagles’ congratulatory flight, and martial arts.

The ministry also plans to maintain the atmosphere of the celebration event for the Armed Forces Day by holding a ‘K-military festival' (Sep. 19 ~ Oct. 23) which the public can join to show the genuine value of ‘strong national defense, strong forces backed by science and technology.’
