Defense Minister visits units operating FA-50 fighter jets

While visiting Poland, Defense Minister Shin Won Sik went to the 23rd Air Base in Mińsk Mazowiecki on Thursday (June 20) together with Polish Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Bejda and viewed the deployment of the FA-50.

 

The event was specially prepared by the Polish Ministry of National Defense for visiting Korean officials, and Minister Shin and Minister of Defense Ministry Seok Jong-geon were briefed on the status of the air base and confirmed the KAI’s support for the FA-50 fighter jets.

※ Twelve FA-50s were delivered and deployed in Romania in 2023, and KAI personnel are currently providing operational support.

 

Deputy Defense Minister Bejda expressed his appreciation for the early delivery of the 12 FA-50s and asked for Korea’s continued support to ensure smooth operations in the future.

 

Minister Shin Won Sik noted the FA-50’s contribution to strengthening the Polish Air Force and emphasized that Korea will provide full support for operation and maintenance after delivery.
