Vice minister of Defense holds talks with Swedish vice minister of foreign affairs and security

In the afternoon of October 26, Vice Minister of National Defense Park Jae-min met with Swedish vice minister of foreign affairs and security under the office of Prime Minister of Sweden Karin Wallensteen in the main building of the ministry, and the two exchanged opinions on the security situation in the region including the Korean Peninsula and ways to strengthen ROK-Sweden defense cooperation.

Expressing appreciation to Sweden for its considerable contributions to building peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, including the dispatch of a medical support team and serving as a member of the Neutral National Supervisory Commission during the Korean War, Park stressed the need to further strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries on the multilateral stage, as well as the bilateral stage, given the rapidly changing global situation.
