Sailors at Jinhae Naval Base Command (hereinafter referred to as ‘JNBC’) overcame the heat wave with different activities that helped them get through the intense heat.

The sailors of Chamsuri-287 belonging to JNBC have been getting through the summer with the sea like ‘seamen’. They had fire and watertight drills which were performed to enhance their casualty control ability in the event of a fire or flooding situation during combat.

The sailors threw themselves into the drill to get the scorching heat off their minds, quenching a fire on a model vessel with water and curbing the flow of the water spurting around the clock. And for those who finished the training, fire and watertight drills on the sea, including combat swimming, a watermelon salad was provided to help them regain their vigor.

“During this season, when the sultriness continues, we’ll provide training to help sailors overcome the heat, making the most of the Navy’s characteristics,” said Captain Kim Eun-kyung, fleet commander, Chamsuri-287.

The land security battalion (hereinafter referred to as ‘LSB‘) also provided various programs for soldiers for a summer solidarity event
and rest 5 times, from August 5 to 12.

As well, after promoting a military action mindset through Combat Rudder Raiding Craft (CRRC) practice on the Jinhae naval port seashore, the trainees had physical activities to prevent non-battle injuries that can happen in the intense heat, and promote a cheerful barracks life.
