“Arc unit, assigned the role of military diplomats”

The Twelfth Arc unit, which will be sent to the UAE (United Arab Emirates Military Training Cooperation Group) to support the education and training of the UAE (United Arab Emirates) special warfare unit and engage in combined training performance as well as protect Koreans who live in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) in times of emergency, had an organizing ceremony at the Army Special Warfare School on February 14, in which they reaffirmed their commitment to mission completion.

Around 150 soldiers of the Arc unit organized on this day will receive various education courses over the next 5 weeks, including education in special warfare, counterterrorism, air infiltration, maritime operation, explosive ordnance clearance, and tactics and techniques ability maximization, as well as on Arabic and Islamic culture etc..

Subsequently starting with the advance group on March 13, they will be sent to the UAE (United Arab Emirates) until March 21 for performing their 8-month-long mission.

The Twelfth unit soldiers were selected after an intense competition, 7.8 to 1 on average, encompassing a comprehensive evaluation covering mission capability, service career, character, language ability etc..
