Sung Il (a retired Army Major General), the former director of the Current Capabilities Program Agency of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, was appointed as the Director of the Office of Military Force and Resources Management of the Defense Ministry.

 

On July 3, the Defense Ministry announced that Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup presented a letter of appointment to Director Sung at the Defense Ministry building in Yongsang-gu, Seoul.

 

The Director of the Office of Military Force and Resources Management is responsible for the establishment and management of military logistics and military installation policies, military force improvement projects and military airport relocation projects.

 

Director Sung was appointed as the 43rd officer of the Korea Military Academy, and served as an Director General for International Cooperation, Director of the Current Capabilities Program Agency of the Defense Acquisition program Administration, and Director of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics of Army Headquarters.

 

The Defense Ministry assessed, “Director Sung has wide-ranging experience and expertise in the defense sector, along with excellent planning, superior implementation, and cooperation and coordination capabilities. He is the best person who will tackle major outstanding issues and government tasks in fostering military barracks for future generations, establish advanced military strength, and expand defense industry exports.”
