Korea-U.S. Marine Corps successfully completed CPX (Command Post Exercise) and made a sharp improvement in combined operational capability and teamwork.

Around 2,000 Korean and U.S. Marines conducted CPX in places like Pohang and Daegu from March 15-23.

Major commanders and chiefs of KMC including Commander Lee Young-ju (Lieutenant General) engaged in the exercise in Balan, Gyeonggi-do, and Commander Wissler, Lieutenant General of the 3rd Expeditionary Maneuver Group, the U.S. Marine Corps, the 3rd division commanders and other major chiefs participated in Okinawa, Japan.

It was the first time that the command of the Korea-U.S. Marine Corps conducted CPX on a large scale since CMCC was established.

Korea-U.S. Marine Corps stepped up the warfighting process by establishing plans and putting it into action with organization of combined battle staff and tactical discussions, which suit the main situations. They were able to verify the commander’s and chief’s activities and obtain results that maximize operational capability in wartime through this exercise.

“We, the combined Marine Corps, took on the strongest shape that could execute operations whenever and wherever through this CPX. It was an opportunity to increase teamwork and warfighting capability of both Marine Corps with KMC’s leading role and effort,” said Commander Lee.
