A ceremony for organization of the second division of Araw Contingent, ROK Joint Support Group for The Philippines

 

A ceremony for organization of "The Second Division of Araw Contingent, ROK Joint Support Group for The Philippines," which will perform a reconstruction support mission for The Philippines, was held at the International Peace Corps on May 27.

 

About 350 people including Lieutenant Colonel Yu, Nak-gyeun, the chief of the Troop Dispatching Readiness Unit, soldiers and related officials of the activation unit joined the organization ceremony that was held under the supervision of Colonel Jeon, Myeon-yeop, the chief of the International Peace Corps.

 

Centering around the unit of military engineers, the second division of the Araw Contingent consists of about 300 people including the Marine Corps, taking charge of medical, transportation, signal, and security missions.

 

"ROK Joint Support Group for The Philippines will do its best to help The Philippines rebound from despair. All of our military personnel will make thorough preparations for perfect completion of missions with the mental attitude of being a national representative of Korea," said Yu, Nak-gyeun, the chief of the Troop Dispatching Readiness Unit.
