“Save soldiers in case of sudden emergency!”

The 1st ROK field army offered education regarding cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) for 400 officers from September 15 to 17.

This first aid education, which instructs CPR and emergency first aid at the scene according to the type of injury, is one of 12 basic courses in which all the soldiers should attain proficiency through their 16-week education.

It was prepared to improve officers’ first aid ability in case of safety concerns that could possibly occur during unit training.

The education consisted of demonstrative theory for 15 minutes and practice for 45 minutes conducted by an Army doctor. Officers received one-on-one education about how to do CPR such as artificial respiration, cardiac massage, etc. and use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Prior to this, the unit provided the same education for families of soldiers at the community center of Tongil apartments on August 13-14.

This was for preventing safety accidents in the summertime and accidents that could happen to children at home, and it was very well received by families by adding proper actions in case of emergency such as burns as well as CPR.
