On February 19, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea announced the deployment of USAF B-1B strategic bombers to the Korean Peninsula to take part in joint air exercises conducted by South Korea and the United States.

 

During the air drills, ROK Air Force's F-35A stealth fighters and F-15K bombers, along with US Air Force's F-16 fighters, flew in a coordinated formation to accompany US B-1B bombers as they entered the Korean Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ).

 

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea stated that the swift and timely deployment of US extended deterrence exemplified the strong and effective combined defense capabilities and readiness of South Korea and the US. The maneuver also showcased the enhanced interoperability between the two nations and reaffirmed the US's dedication to securing the Korean Peninsula's airtight defense and upholding extended deterrence measures.
