Republic of Korean Minister of National Defense meets with U.S. Commander of Special Warfare Command

Minister Jeong calls for “diplomatic efforts and support for the establishment of denuclearization and peace on the Korean Peninsula”

On June 7th, Minister of National Defense Jeong Kyeong-doo met with the Commander of U.S. Special Warfare Command General Richard Clark while he was on a visit to the Ministry of National Defense. The meeting was a chance for the two men to share opinions about the development of the Republic of Korea-U.S. alliance and the reinforcement of the combined defense posture.

 

“The close cooperation between the Republic of Korean and U.S. Special Warfare Command contributes greatly to our ability to maintain a robust combined defense posture. I ask you to continue in your unwavering support, to militarily support the diplomatic efforts for the shared objective of Republic of Korea and the U.S.; the establishment of an era of denuclearization and peace on the Korean Peninsula,” Minister Jeong said at the meeting.

 

“This visit has been a good opportunity to confirm the strength of the Republic of Korea-U.S. alliance and combined defense posture. We will continue to work actively to enhance the alliance between the Republic of Korean and U.S. Special Warfare Command,” Commander Clark replied.
